Elegant small sterling silver pendant displaying two Baltic amber beads. Supplied with a 16 inch sterling silver chain.
Amber is a fossil resin produced by pine trees in Northern Europe about 50 million years ago. The colour of Baltic amber depends on its age and from where it was originally discovered.
The Baltic region is home to the largest known deposit of amber.
The sterling silver and amber jewellery pieces from the Gemoholic Baltic Amber and Sterling Silver collection are handcrafted with Baltic Amber from Lithuania using traditional silversmithing techniques.
Baltic Amber radiates warm energy and it is traditionally used for healing. Amber Jewellery has been made even before the time of Christ; and in the height of the Roman Empire, Baltic Amber was called the "Gold of the North." Ancient tribes like the Goths, Celts, Romans and Chinese valued Baltic amber for its stunning beauty, protection, and healing properties. Baltic amber has one of the highest concentrations of succinic acid. Succinic acid is a natural component of plant and animal tissues and is known for its healing properties and its use as an antibiotic to heal cuts and/or in a plaster to dress wounds.
